COVID Patient & Visitors Policy

Inpatient Visitor Policy

All visitors will be screened for symptoms and have their temperature checked.

Visitors for patients at Marshall Hospital must wear a well-fitted mask with good filtration (procedure mask or N95) upon entering the facility, regardless of vaccination status.

Covid tests are available to visitors upon request.

No visitors under 12 years of age (including siblings) for any inpatient location.

Do not visit a patient if you have symptoms of a COVID illness, or have tested positive for COVID and are still within your isolation period.

Visitors may be asked to wear additional personal protective equipment, as determined and provided by hospital staff.

Visitors to COVID-positive patients are not permitted to travel anywhere else in the facility (e.g., cafeteria).

Number of Visitors Allowed

Non-COVID patients are allocated up to two visitors at a time and should stay only a short period of time (no more than 15-30 minutes) if not in a private room.

COVID-positive patients will not be allowed visitors, unless they are end-of-life (including AIM patients). Exceptions may be made by the charge nurse or department leadership based on patient needs.

COVID-positive Birth Center patients may have one designated visitor. Marshall Labor Support Doula volunteers are not counted as a visitor.

Clinic Visitor Policy

One caregiver or loved one will be allowed to accompany patients in Marshall outpatient clinics. No other visitors will be allowed.

Exceptions include end of life discussions, dementia patients, patients with mobility issues, a parent of a minor and significant others of OB patients.
